چکیده

I. SUMMARY Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of a large amount of sensor nodes (spots). We address the problem of how theses spots can be programmed so that they collaborate to fulfil a common task. The novelty of our work is that we assay how UML2 Activity Diagrams (UADs) can be used and adapted for this purpose. To gain insights, we develop a framework for Sun SPOTs. We design activities with Papyrus UML and transform the resulting XMI output to a data format that can be interpreted by the execution environment we have programmed for our Sun SPOTs. We have extended the expressiveness of UADs by an <>-stereotype. This allows us to describe to which Sun SPOT an activity should be allocated. So we can not only program the behaviour of one Sun SPOT locally, but also the behaviour of the whole network. With this poster we introduce our attempt, the framework, a detailed experiment showing all supported UAD-elements and our preliminary results. Additionally, we give a brief insight in our further work.

Extended Abstract: Programming Wireless Sensor Networks using UML2 Activity Diagrams

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of a large amount sensor notes (spots). We address the problem of how theses spots can be controlled, so that they collaborate to fulfill a common task. UML2 Activity Diagrams (UADs) enable the user to model workflows, describing activities, in a graphical, structured and hierarchical manner. The novelty of our work is that we program WSNs using UADs. Our...

Design and evaluation of two distributed methods for sensors placement in Wireless Sensor Networks

Adequate coverage is one of the main problems for distributed wireless sensor networks and The effectiveness of that highly depends on the sensor deployment scheme. Given a finite number of sensors, optimizing the sensor deployment will provide sufficient sensor coverage and save power of sensors for movement to target location to adequate coverage. In this paper, we apply fuzzy logic system to...

Modeling UML2 activity diagram by using Graph Transformation Systems and Abstract State Machine

Graphs and diagrams provide a simple and powerful approach variety of problems that are typical to computer science, for example for activities. In software development visual notation are used for modeling that including activity diagram, class diagram, control flow, graphs and some another diagrams. Models based on these notation can be seen a graph and graph transformation are involved. So A...

Target Tracking with Unknown Maneuvers Using Adaptive Parameter Estimation in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract- Tracking a target which is sensed by a collection of randomly deployed, limited-capacity, and short-ranged sensors is a tricky problem and, yet applicable to the empirical world. In this paper, this challenge has been addressed a by introducing a nested algorithm to track a maneuvering target entering the sensor field. In the proposed nested algorithm, different modules are to fulfill...
